On Wednesday, May 7, the Melissa ISD and the Melissa Chamber of Commerce co-hosted the Inspire Future Entrepreneurs event at Melissa High School, highlighting the creativity and ambition of Melissa High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) students.
During the interactive session, students presented original business concepts developed through their coursework to a panel of local business professionals. The panel, composed of experienced entrepreneurs and community leaders, offered real-time feedback, encouragement, and insight into what it takes to turn an idea into a viable business.
“This event is a powerful example of what happens when education and industry come together,” said Entrepreneurship teacher, J.R. Elliott, “Our students didn’t just learn about entrepreneurship—they lived it.”
From product development to marketing plans, each student presentation reflected months of planning and innovation. Panelists praised the students’ professionalism and creativity while offering practical advice to help refine their ideas.
The Inspire Future Entrepreneurs event is part of a growing partnership between Melissa ISD and the local business community, aiming to empower students with real-world experience and mentorship as they prepare for college, careers, and beyond.
Melissa ISD extends a sincere thank-you to the Melissa Chamber of Commerce, the panelists, and all of the business professionals who attended and supported this event. Their time, expertise, and encouragement made a lasting impact on our students and their futures.
