Late Arrival for Non-Testing Seniors on May 4

Melissa High School received a waiver from the State of Texas to allow late arrival for non-testing senior students next Thursday, May 4, due to the fact that much of the campus will be testing that day.

Senior students who are not taking End of Course (EOC) exams in Biology and U.S. History on Thursday, May 4 shall arrive late that day, in time for the start of 5th period at 12:50 p.m.

  • When: Saturday, May 20 from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m.
  • Where: Courtyard Marriott, The Village at Allen, 210 E Stacy Rd, Allen, TX 75002 (Get Directions)
  • Tickets:
    • May 8-12: $90 per person
    • May 15-19: $100 per person
    • Tickets can be purchased in Room 306 before or after school, or during lunch
  • Dress: Formal Attire – see below or visit the Dress Code page

High School Dress Code for Prom

With modesty in mind, the following dress code guidelines are recommended for the Melissa High School prom.


Ladies*
  • Dresses should not be cut too low in the front or the back.
  • Two pieces are allowed; however, if midriff is shown, there should be no more than 3 inches visible.
  • Hemlines or slits in dresses should be no more than 5 inches above the knee.
  • Dress shoes or dress boots preferred. No slippers or flip-flops.

*All ladies dresses should be approved by Coach Dotson (room 306) before prom.


Gentlemen
  • Tuxedos, suits, or sport coats with dress pants.
  • No blue jeans.
  • No opened toed shoes. Dress shoes or dress boots preferred. No slippers or flip-flops.
  • No bandanas, baseball hats, or non-formal hats.
