Course Selection & Scheduling - Academic Planning Guide

The Melissa High School Academic Planning Guide (APG) has been created to provide important course descriptions and academic planning guidelines for our students and their families. This guide will help students and families in making informed decisions concerning course selections and academic programs of study throughout their high school experience. Please carefully review the information contained in the APG. The guidance counselors will also support students as they begin to consider different options and pathways that meet each students individual learning needs and future goals.

Course Request Changes

Course request changes must be submitted via the MHS Course Change Request Form no later than May 10, 2024 at 4:00 PMNo elective changes will be made after the deadline! For information regarding course offerings, please review the Academic Planning Guide (APG).

Course Request Card Deadlines

Current 8th grade student course request cards must be submitted by, Friday, January 26 to the following:

  • Melissa Middle School Front Office

Current 9th, 10, & 11th grade student course request cards must be submitted by, Friday, January 19 to the following:

  • Current 9th Grade - World Geography Teacher

  • Current 10th Grade - World History Teacher

  • Current 11th Grade - English III Teacher

Melissa High School Academic Expo

Students entering grades 9-12 at Melissa High School in the fall, as well as their parents/guardians, are invited to attend the Academic Expo on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 to gather information about classes and programs offered for the 2024-2025 school year.

Incoming Freshmen Parent Meeting
Prior to the Academic Expo, a student/parent meeting for incoming Melissa High School freshmen (current 8th grade students) will be held from 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium at the Melissa Arts Center (directions).
