Feb. 24 @ 6:00 p.m. - Out of precaution, Melissa ISD will open with a delayed start on Friday, February 25. There will be no before-school practices or activities Friday morning. The school start times for Friday are as follows:
- Pre-K starts at 9:20 a.m. (Early drop-off starts at 8:55 a.m.)
- K-5 elementary schools start at 9:35 a.m. (Early drop-off starts at 9:05 a.m.)
- Middle school starts at 10:20 a.m. (Early drop-off starts at 9:50 a.m.)
- High school starts at 10:10 a.m. (Early drop-off starts at 9:50 a.m.)
- DAEP starts at 9:55 a.m.
Buses will run an hour and 45 minutes later than their normal morning schedules. An updated list of Bad Weather Make-Up Days resulting from this month's weather-related school closures will be posted on the Melissa ISD website.
Please note that breakfast will not be served Friday morning due to school starting after breakfast hours.
Feb. 23 @ 2:30 p.m. - Due to the winter weather forecast and increasingly hazardous road conditions across the metroplex, Melissa ISD will be closed Thursday, February 24. All extracurricular activities are canceled for both Wednesday and Thursday. Carpool and bus delays are expected during Wednesday afternoon dismissal. Melissa ISD will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day on Thursday and will communicate if the decision is made to close or delay school on Friday, February 25. Feb. 23 @ 1:00 p.m. - All Melissa ISD extracurricular activities are canceled for the afternoon of Wednesday, February 23. We are closely monitoring the weather forecast and road conditions with the safety of everyone top-of-mind. We will continue to monitor outside temperatures, precipitation, and road conditions, and will communicate later today if the decision is made to close or delay school on Thursday, February 24. During Wednesday afternoon dismissal, please know that our bus drivers and staff will be exercising extreme caution. Carpool and bus delays are expected today. We appreciate your patience.
