The Melissa High School golf teams won the district championship and will advance to the UIL Regional Tournament in Canton next week.
Overall, the Cardinals shot 305-297, winning by 126. The Lady Cardinals shot 356-360, winning by 195. Individually, Melissa swept the podium, with Lady Cardinals filling the top five spots and Cardinals filling the top three. Leslie Bauslaugh qualified to advance to regionals individually.
For the Cardinals, Xavier Bighaus took first place and was named the district champion, followed by Walker Eanes in second place and Chandler Barch in third.
For the Lady Cardinals, Allie Norton took first place and was named the district champion, followed by Sydney Norton in second, Lindsay Bauslaugh in third, Alex Lozano in fourth, and Jami Foster in fifth.
