The Melissa ISD community is invited to join us for the Our Day to Shine scrimmage on Thursday, August 20, as the Cardinals take on Colleyville Heritage at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium at 7 p.m. The event will support the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation (THSCEF) Benevolence Fund, which provides assistance to student-athletes and coaches facing hardships.
As part of the Texas High School Coaches Association’s Our Day to Shine initiative, Melissa ISD will designate this scrimmage as an opportunity to give back through high school athletics. All proceeds will be donated to the THSCEF Benevolence Fund.
The Melissa High School JV and Freshman teams will also participate in the event that day, with their scrimmages beginning at 5 p.m. in the Indoor Field.
Our Day to Shine brings schools across Texas together to support athletes and coaches in need. Through the initiative, participating schools have helped raise more than $1 million for the Benevolence Fund, providing financial assistance to student-athletes and coaches experiencing difficult circumstances.
