Melissa ISD is excited to announce these newly appointed school board members ahead of the 2026-2027 school year. Each member was unanimously voted in by our Melissa ISD trustees at the May and July Board Meetings.
The Melissa ISD Board of Trustees appointed Mr. Sal Dababneh following the resignation of Mr. Omar Landrum. He will serve the remainder of the current terms for Place 5, with this place up for re-election in May 2027. Mrs. Stacy Fieker was elected to Place 2, succeeding Dr. Bill Gray.
Sal Dababneh, Place 5
Mr. Saleem Dababneh and his family have proudly called Melissa home since 2013. Alongside his wife, they have raised six children here, giving him a unique perspective on the many opportunities the district provides. Four of their children are recent graduates of Melissa HS, while two more are currently enrolled in MISD schools. Through their children's experiences in Career and Technical Education (CTE), dual credit programs, athletics, robotics, fine arts, and student leadership, the Dababneh family has developed a deep appreciation for the district's educators, staff, and coaches who help students discover their unique talents and prepare for the future.
A longtime community volunteer, Mr. Dababneh has served as a mentor at MHS and on multiple district committees over the years, most recently as Co-Chair of Classrooms for Cardinals. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from BYUI and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. He also brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in technology and business.
"Melissa ISD has played an important role in shaping our family over the past thirteen years. Each of our six children has followed a different path, yet every one of them has benefited from teachers, staff, coaches, and mentors who recognized their individual strengths and invested in their success,” Mr. Dababneh shared. “Those experiences have shown me that a great school district isn't defined by a single program or opportunity, it creates an environment where every student can discover their potential. It is an honor to give back by serving our community and helping ensure Melissa ISD remains a place where today's students, and generations to come, are equipped to learn, lead, and thrive in an ever-changing world."
Stacy Fieker, Place 2
Mrs. Stacy Fieker is a native Texan and a 20-year Melissa resident. She is a mother to her ten year old daughter and married to Andrew. Mrs. Fieker graduated from the University of Oklahoma and has spent the majority of her 23-year insurance industry career as a Learning Professional, specializing in instructional design. In addition to giving back to her community, she loves family time cheering on their favorite teams and caring for a lively mix of pets that includes a mini dachshund, golden retriever, school-hatched chickens, and an axolotl. She believes strong relationships are the foundation of bright futures.
“For more than 20 years, Melissa has been an exceptional place for my family to call home, and it’s no surprise that Melissa ISD reflects those same values and sense of community,” shared Mrs. Fieker. “As a parent and longtime volunteer, I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside incredible educators, staff, and families who are deeply committed to our students. Those experiences have strengthened my appreciation for this district and inspired me to continue serving in this new capacity. It is an honor to serve our Cardinals and remain committed to making thoughtful, student-centered decisions guided by integrity, humility, and hope as we continue building on the excellence that makes Melissa ISD a place where students learn, educators inspire, and our community thrives.”
