East Cardinal Middle School 8th grade students delivered outstanding presentations during the school’s IB Middle Years Programme Community Project Expo last night. Every 8th grade student had the opportunity to share their community project and explain how they identified a need in their community, took meaningful action, and reflected on the process and impact of their work. Community members, staff, and students were able to listen and learn from our future leaders as they shared ideas and projects designed to make a difference.
“The IB MYP Community Project was a huge success and a powerful reminder of what students are capable of when they use their learning to give back to others through meaningful direct or indirect service,” shared IB MYP Coordinator Eydie Simpson.
The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for success in further study and in life, aiming to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.
Great job to these outstanding students and for the dedication and hard work they’ve poured into their community projects. We are proud of all they’ve accomplished and excited to see them continue on their path to excellence!
