Melissa High School UIL Academic Students Advancing to State

The Melissa High School UIL Academic Team had 18 students compete at the UIL 5A-2 Regional Meet this past weekend, with three students advancing to the state meet and four students as alternates for state. Along with these students advancing, the Speech/Debate team was crowned Regional Champions for the 6th consecutive year. 

The Melissa High School UIL Academic Team had students participate in individual events at the Regional Meet. The individual students advanced to state in the following events: Persuasive Speaking and Poetry Interpretation.

The UIL Academic State Meet will be held from Monday, May 18, to Tuesday, May 29, at the University of Texas-Austin campus. Congratulations to all the UIL participants and teachers who worked so hard to be here. Good luck at State!
