FCCLA Students Advancing to State

Congratulations to the eight Melissa High School students who are advancing to FCCLA State! Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students competed at the FCCLA Regional Conference on Feb. 15-17, 2024, in Waco. Students were tasked with completing projects and taking FCCLA Assessments to test their unique skills.

Kinsley Essary and Michelle Grant earned 3rd place in the Fashion Design category for their elegant and comfortable dress design and presentation. Lea Sabo, Finley Haslam, and Kassandra Mojica presented the vintage purse they made, earning 3rd place in the Repurpose and Redesign category. The last project presented was Mariah Judkins' Professional Presentation on Mental Health, which placed 4th in its category. All projects placed and qualified for state.

The MHS FCCLA program had students competing in the Family Consumer Science Assessments. Five MHS students earned a medal and will be advancing to state with their individual scores: Minnah Badruddin, Michelle Grant, Kassandra Mojica, Ellen Remigio, and Lea Sabo.

Congratulations again and good luck at FCCLA State in Dallas in April!
