Four students represented Melissa ISD at the Collin County Spelling Bee on Feb. 1 at the Lowery Freshman Center Auditorium in Allen, TX. Spelling Bees were held on campuses to determine which students would have the opportunity to go on and compete at the county level.
This year, the top finisher from Melissa ISD at the county level was Albert Hua, a fifth grader at Harry McKillop Elementary. Albert placed in the top 10 out of 40 contestants, going nine rounds into the competition.
Students representing Melissa ISD at the Collin County Spelling Bee were Albert Hua (5th grade), Hope Hendrickson (5th grade), Sai Kalishetty (4th grade), and Charlotte Lewis (4th grade).
