Two Melissa ISD teachers were honored through the “Pay it Forward” initiative by Mathews Nissan of Paris on Friday, Feb. 9. Michelle Moore, an English teacher at Melissa High School, was honored for her dedication and passion for serving the students and school. Melissa McDaniel, a Third Grade teacher at Sumeer Elementary, was also recognized for her love and commitment to students, teachers, and the school.
The dealership owners, Tim and Julie Anderson, are a former Melissa Cardinal family and initiated the “Pay it Forward” program to recognize teachers who go above and beyond for students and the school without expecting anything in return. Both Moore and McDaniel were awarded $250 each through this initiative to thank them for their service in education.
