The Melissa High School Speech and Debate team received the 2023 Leading Chapter Award from the National Speech and Debate Association on January 10, 2024.
The Leading Chapter Award is given to one chapter in each competition district that demonstrates outstanding dedication to speech and debate education. Only 3% of the schools in the nation's competition districts receive recognition as winners of this award. The schools bestowed with this title comprehend the significance of speech and debate education and the opportunities it provides for the involved students.
Congratulations once again to the Melissa High School Speech and Debate Team! The Melissa High School Speech and Debate team will continue to represent our school as they host the Cardinal Winter Classic Debate Tournament this weekend, Jan. 19-20, at Melissa High School.
