Melissa High School Girls Basketball Coach Katie Stinton  Earns 300th Career Win

Congratulations to Melissa High School Girls Basketball Coach, Katie Stinton, for reaching a remarkable milestone of 300 career victories with a win against the Denison Yellow Jackets on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024.

Coach Stinton has been at the helm of the Lady Cardinal Basketball program for the past two seasons. Before joining Melissa, she spent three successful seasons in Gunter, guiding the team to the regional finals. Coach Stinton's coaching journey began at Lone Star High School, where she started the program and coached for nine years, reaching the regional tournament twice. With 23 years in education and 15 seasons as a head coach, Coach Stinton brings a wealth of experience to the court.

The Lady Cardinals are off to a strong start, leading 4-0 in District 13-5A and 17-7 on the season. Come cheer on the Lady Cardinals tonight, Jan. 9, at 5:45 p.m. as they take on the Princeton Panthers at Melissa High School.
