Ronny Williams and Family

Melissa ISD would like to congratulate the 2023 Wall of Honor Inductee, Ronny Williams, also known as Coach Will.

Coach Will joined Melissa in 2004 as a teacher and coach when Melissa was transitioning to UIL high school athletics. Under the direction of Coach Rick Gagarin, Coach Will helped the Cardinals reach their first football playoff appearance in 2006, making it all the way to the Regional Semi-finals. Shortly after, Coach Will became the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. He helped lead the Cardinals to multiple State tournament appearances in several sports, going deep into the playoffs every year. In 2009, he transitioned to MISD Athletic Director, as Seth Stinton took the reins as Head Football Coach. Under Coach Will's guidance, the Cardinals clinched their first-ever football State Championship in 2011. After 35 years in education, Coach Will retired in 2012, leaving behind a championship legacy and a winning tradition that continues today.

Coach Will received the award at the football game on Nov. 2, 2023. He was joined by his wife, Dena; his daughters and sons: Leslie, Joe and Sydney, and Zach and Haley; and his 7 grandchildren.
