Melissa High School junior, Tyler Mathieson, was named the State Champion in Technical Computer Applications at the SkillsUSA 2023 State Championships. Tyler is the first student from Melissa to win first place at a SkillsUSA state competition.
Previously, Tyler has placed first and second at UIL state competitions and he has taken numerous technology courses in the Melissa ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Next, Tyler will represent not only Melissa, but also the state of Texas as he competes at the SkillsUSA National Championships amongst more than 50 students from across the country.
