Melissa ISD is celebrating the arts with the first annual Heart for the Arts festival the evening of Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, outside of the Melissa Arts Center. Heart for the Arts is a free outdoor family-fun event with bounce houses, face painting, art stations, pop-up performances, photo ops, storybook read-alouds, and more.

All performances and activities will be led by Cardinals in the Melissa ISD band, cheerleading, choir, theatre, and visual arts programs. The middle school choir will serve hot cocoa and food trucks will be onsite for those who want to purchase a meal or snack.

Bundle up and celebrate the arts! Heart for the Arts will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 at Symmetry Plaza, located outside of the Melissa Arts Center at 3030 Milrany Ln. Admission is free; donations to the Melissa ISD fine arts programs are welcome.

Heart for the Arts is a reimagined version of the "Expresso Yourself" fine arts showcase that was held annually at Melissa ISD from 2015-2021. The Heart for the Arts logo design was created with student artwork and digital edits by Luci Davis and Annaliese To.
