Melissa ISD is hosting the Brook Mays and H&H Music Marching Showcase, featuring two separate marching band contests at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium this fall. The Large School Contest will take place Saturday, September 26, 2026, followed by the Small School Contest on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The Large School Contest will feature 21 high school bands competing throughout the day, along with a special exhibition performance from the Melissa Mighty Cardinal Band at 10:00 a.m. East Texas A&M University’s “The Pride” will also perform in a special exhibition performance at 5:15 p.m., just prior to the announcement of the Prelims results.
The Small School Contest will feature 31 high school bands, along with a special exhibition performance from Lindale High School at 5:00 p.m. Tyler Junior College will also perform in a special exhibition performance at 5:15 p.m., just prior to the announcement of the Prelims results.
Melissa ISD will be hosting four marching contests at the stadium this season, including the UIL Region and Area contests. The demand for the venue reflects the quality of the facility and the experience it provides for participating bands and spectators. These contests also provide a meaningful benefit to our own band programs, as proceeds from the events go directly to our booster clubs, helping to support our students and the programs they participate in throughout the year.
We invite the entire community and all of our Cardinals to come watch the Melissa Mighty Cardinal Band perform, see what a competition day looks like, and experience the energy of the performances firsthand!
Tickets
Tickets for both contests are on sale online through Melissa ISD HomeTown Ticketing. General admission tickets are $15, plus fees. Senior Citizens tickets are available for $10, plus fees, and children under the age of 10 are free of charge.
