Join us for the inaugural Friday Night Lights event as Melissa ISD celebrates the traditions and excitement of Friday night football. This community event at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium on August 14 will spotlight the varsity programs that help create the Friday night experience, including Football, Cheer, Band, Color Guard, Athletic Training, and the Ruby Belles Drill Team. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and festivities begin at 7:00 p.m.
Please note that all attendees must follow the stadium’s clear bag policy.
Meet the Programs
Meet the coaches, directors, student-athletes, athletic trainers, and performers who make Friday nights in Melissa special. Fans will have the opportunity to:
Meet Melissa High School coaches, directors, and student leaders
Take photos on the field
Collect autographs from varsity athletes and performers (please bring your own Sharpie and items to be signed)
Live Performances
Fans can also get to enjoy performances by the Melissa High School Cheer, Dance, and Band programs.
Melissa Booster Club
The Melissa Booster Club will be on-site throughout the event with opportunities to get involved and support Melissa ISD students.
Giveaways
Thanks to the Melissa Booster Club, attendees will have the chance to enjoy giveaways throughout the evening.
The first 100 youth through the gates will receive a free T-shirt.

Additional Booster Club giveaways will be available during the event.
Become a Booster Club Member
Melissa Cardinal fans will have the opportunity to sign up for a Melissa Booster Club membership throughout the event. Memberships directly support Melissa ISD's Fine Arts and Athletics programs, helping provide opportunities and resources for student participants. Multiple membership levels are available, making it easy for every Cardinal fan to get involved.

Join the Birdie Fan Club
Young Cardinals are invited to become part of Birdie's pre-game experience through the Birdie Fan Club! Members will enjoy games, activities, and the opportunity to spend time with Birdie before select Melissa High School home football games at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium.
Birdie Fan Club membership includes free admission for the student member to three selected district home games this season. Parents and family members will need to purchase their own game admission.
The first 50 students who sign up at Friday Night Lights will receive a free Birdie Fan Club membership for their choice of three district home games this season.
Sign-ups begin at Friday Night Lights, but will be available online after the event until after halftime of the first game. Memberships are limited to 50 students per game and are first come, first serve.
