Melissa High School's Girls Track & Field team has four athletes who have secured their spots at the 2026 Track & Field 5A State Meet after facing tough competition at Regionals this past week.
Kennedy Branch emerged as a state qualifier in the Girls 100M Dash, placing 3rd in the Region with a time of 11:64.
The MHS Girls Track team also had an outstanding, record-breaking season, highlighted by the Girls 4x200M Relay Team consisting of Khobi Branch, Haven Scott, Hikmah Abdul-Hammed, and Kennedy Branch.
This exceptional group shattered the school record four times this year, with the latest school record being 1:37:74, earning a 2nd place finish at Regionals and qualifying them for the State Meet.
These exceptional athletes will represent MHS at the 2026 Conference 5A Track & Field State Meet, scheduled for Friday, May 15, at the Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium in Austin. Let's extend our best wishes to these athletes as they compete at the state level. Go Cardinals!
