As the 2025-2026 school year comes to a close, I want to send reminders about important information and special events happening in the coming weeks. Thank you for partnering with us to finish strong and celebrate our Cardinals’ hard work this school year.
Cardinal Academic Celebration - May 15, 2026
MHS will host our Spring Cardinal Academic Celebration on Friday, May 15! This event is a way to reward students who have demonstrated outstanding academic behavior in school during the second semester. Students who qualify will be treated to a special themed celebration with games, food, music, and prizes! More information will be shared closer to the event date.
Semester Exams - May 15-20, 2026
Spring semester exams will be taken May 15-20 for all 9th -11th grade students. Students may qualify for an exemption of up to three exams (depending on grade level). Parent 2nd Semester Release From School Permission Slips must be submitted electronically by April 30. Award Ceremonies - May 18-19, 2026
Student recognitions will be awarded during the school day at the Melissa Arts Center. All students receiving a class award, as well as their parents/guardians, will be notified prior to the ceremony.

Last Day of School - May 21, 2026 *MHS Only
The last day of school for all high school students will be Thursday, May 21, with an Early Release Schedule. This applies to Melissa High School ONLY.
Graduation & Senior Activities - May 21, 2026
The commencement ceremony for the Melissa High School Senior Class of 2026 will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium. Doors will open to the public at 7 p.m., and the ceremony will begin promptly at 8 p.m. There is no limit to the number of family members and friends who can attend, and tickets are not required.
