Melissa High School CTE Students Advancing to SkillsUSA State Contest

This past week, Melissa High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) had 44 students compete in the District SkillsUSA Conference with 28 students advancing to State!

On Friday, February 27, these CTE Cardinals showed up and showed out, advancing to state in Applied Engineering, Career Path Business Management, Community Action Project, Cyber Security, Engineering Tech, Entrepreneurship, Extemporaneous Speaking, Health Occupations Portfolio, Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Pin Design, Principles of Engineering, Related Tech Math, and Tech Computer Applications. These outstanding students will be competing at the SkillsUSA State Contest in April.

Melissa ISD Director of CTE Hallie Venner commended the students on their journey so far, “We are incredibly proud of our SkillsUSA students and advisors for their outstanding accomplishments this year. SkillsUSA is the most wide reaching student organization in our CTE programs, and qualifying for state in so many events is a remarkable achievement that reflects the talent, dedication, and hands-on skills our students develop every day. Their success showcases the power of career and technical education in preparing students for both competition and future endeavors.”

Congratulations to these exceptional students and the teachers who coached these students all the way to State!
