On Wednesday, May 21, Mathews Auto Group (Honda and Nissan in Paris, TX) celebrated three extremely deserving educators from Melissa ISD by honoring them through their "Pay it Forward" initiative.
Among the honorees was Erin Rehberg and Jamie Hales, Dyslexia Therapists/CALRS at Sumeer Elementary School. Dyslexia Coordinator, Tammy Murphy, expressed her gratitude for the teachers, saying, “Both of these ladies go above and beyond for their students, making their classrooms a safe and fun place to learn. They will also both be teaching summer school for us, and have worked so hard to make sure the students have a great experience this summer as well. We are thankful for their leadership and dedication to our students.”
Melissa Wiggins, a Custodian at Melissa High School, was also honored. Custodian Supervisor, Rafael Loya, spoke highly of Ramos, saying, “Melissa is hardworking and dependable. She always brings a positive attitude to the workplace and takes responsibility for her duties with care and professionalism. We are very pleased to have her as a part of our team!”
The dealership owners, Tim and Julie Anderson, are a former Melissa Cardinal family and initiated the 'Pay it Forward' program to recognize teachers who go above and beyond for students and the school without expecting anything in return. Both Anderson and Ramos were awarded $250 each through this initiative as a thank you for their service in education.
Congratulations to these outstanding teachers! We deeply appreciate your dedication to our Cardinals.
