Melissa Homecoming Week Festivities Announced for Oct. 16-20, 2023

All Melissa Cardinals, including current students, employees, alumni, and family, are invited to join Melissa High School and Melissa ISD in celebrating Homecoming Week from Oct. 16-20, 2023. Community events will include the Homecoming parade, an outdoor pep rally, and the Melissa High School Homecoming football game.

The Homecoming parade, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, will feature appearances by the Melissa High School 2023 Homecoming Court, Homecoming Prince, and Homecoming Princess. Kenneth Wooten, former Melissa High School Principal, will lead the parade as the Grand Marshal. Those interested in having a float featured in the Homecoming parade can register online at http://www.melissaisd.org/homecoming.

On Friday, Oct. 20, the Melissa Cardinals will take on the Greenville Lions at the Melissa High School Homecoming football game, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium. Ticket sales open online at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16. Ticket pricing is $6 for adults and $4 for students; all tickets increase to $8 the day of the game. The district will air a live stream for those who can’t make it to the game.

Students in grades 6-12 will get to participate in themed dress-up days throughout Homecoming Week. All students are encouraged to participate in Cardinal Spirit Day on Friday, Oct. 20, and  Homecoming mums may be worn to school on that day.
