Out of precaution, Melissa ISD schools and offices will open with a two-hour delayed start on Friday, Feb. 3. Buses will run two hours later than normal. There will be no before-school activities or cafeteria breakfast. With road conditions not improving and continued winter weather in the forecast, Melissa ISD schools and offices will remain closed Thursday, Feb. 2. All school activities and events are canceled for Thursday. The district is closely monitoring area conditions and will communicate by Thursday evening if the decision is made to close or delay school on Friday, Feb. 3. The Melissa High School competitive cheerleading team is headed to state! The community is invited to attend the Cheerleading State Sendoff at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023 in the high school gym to watch a public performance of the state competition routine. Admission is free. The team will compete in the UIL 5A Division I Spirit State Championships from Jan. 13-14, 2023 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
