Melissa ISD is excited to announce several leadership updates to the Melissa ISD campuses for the 2025-2026 school year. Learn more about each of these campus leaders below:
Emily Chapman, Melissa High School Associate Principal
Mrs. Emily Chapman brings 15 years of educational experience to her role with the 2025-2026 school year being her ninth year in Melissa ISD. She has held roles as an English teacher, head cheerleading coach, counselor, academic dean, associate principal, and central administrator in Wolfe City ISD, Tom Bean ISD, and Melissa ISD. Most recently, she served as Director of Academics & Student Services at Tom Bean ISD. She is honored to return once again as Associate Principal at Melissa High School, where she looks forward to partnering with students, staff, parents, and the community to help students establish deep roots in the Cardinal Way and grow in their unique strengths, reaching high levels of personal achievement.
Melissa High School Principal, Marcus Eckert, shared, "We are truly excited to welcome back Emily Chapman to Melissa High School as our Associate Principal. Her wealth of experience in secondary curriculum, instruction, and organizational leadership is matched only by her integrity and contagious spirit. She inspires hope and brings a genuine passion for championing the success of others, making her an invaluable asset to our learning community."
Kristen Taylor, Melissa High School Assistant Principal
Mrs. Kristen Taylor is beginning her second year with Melissa ISD and her 15th year in the education field. Kristen brings a wide range of experience from both large and small school districts, including Keller ISD and Burkburnett ISD. She has experience at all levels of education, from elementary to secondary. She has 5 years of experience as an assistant principal and 7 years of experience as a school counselor. This year, Kristen will be joining the high school administrative team as an assistant principal, assisting in IB and academic affairs.
"We are thrilled to welcome our new Assistant Principal, Kristen Taylor, transferring to our campus from MREC. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge across the continuum of public education in both administration and counseling. We are fortunate to have her join our dedicated and professional administrative team as we continue to serve our students and community through the Cardinal Way," Melissa High School Principal, Markus Eckert shared.
Michelle Moore, Melissa Sixth Grade Center Dean of Students
This will be Mrs. Michelle Moore’s 3rd year in Melissa ISD and her 14th year in education overall. Throughout her tenure as an educator, she served as an Administrative Intern, English Classroom Teacher (Academic, Advanced, and AP), Team Lead, EBL Teacher, Head Cheerleading Coach, Assistant Cheer Coach at Illinois State University, and Student Council Lead Sponsor in Illinois, Florida, and Texas, including Frisco ISD and Richardson ISD.
David Moliere, Melissa Sixth Grade Center Principal, shared, “Mrs. Moore is a high energy leader that brings a passion for collaboration and student growth. Her eagerness to support our teacher's, empower our students, and infuse positivity into our school is already making an impact.”
Jeremy Pryor, North Creek Elementary Dean of Students
Mr. Jeremy Pryor is entering his 3rd year with Melissa ISD and brings 22 years of experience in education. Before joining North Creek Elementary, he served as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, and classroom teacher for grades 1 through 5 in Plano, McKinney, Van Alstyne, and most recently at Sumeer Elementary in Melissa.
North Creek Elementary Principal, Erika Parker, shared, "Our North Creek family is thrilled to welcome Mr. Jeremy Pryor! His dedication, vision, and fierce commitment to supporting our students, teachers, and community will be a tremendous asset to our campus. We look forward to the positive impact he will bring to our hallways and our hearts.”
Also included in these leadership updates are Dr. Tommy Shiflett who will be moving back to secondary as an Assistant Principal at East Cardinal Middle School and Laleh Olateju who is moving campuses to be the Dean of Students at Highland Elementary.
