Summer 2023 Session:
May 30 - Aug. 10, 2023

The Melissa ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student Workforce is a 10-week summer carousel program that offers high school students the opportunity to gain work experience in the areas of Technology Infrastructure, Plumbing, Construction Generalist, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).

Working two days per week during the summer break from school, students receive on-the-job training and instruction from Melissa ISD mentors. Upon completion of the 200-hour program, students will earn a $1,500 stipend, one work-based learning credit, and an industry-recognized safety certification.

For the summer 2023 session, the Student Workforce will participate in three "lunch and learn" sessions with leaders from Crossland Construction Company, a contractor currently working on new school construction for Melissa ISD. Students will be introduced to postgraduate opportunities of construction apprenticeship available through Crossland.
