Mission
The department's mission is to provide exceptional learners with the essential skills necessary to thrive at school, at home, and in the community. This is accomplished through developing relationships that unify stakeholders, meeting the individual needs of each child, instilling advocacy skills in students, and empowering hope by creating a culture of success.

Sit With Us
The philosophy of Sit With Us is that Melissa parents are Cardinal Champions who see the best for not only their students but for all students. These monthly discussions address concerns, answer questions, and determine ways to collectively work toward solutions alongside campus administration. To learn more about Sit With Us, visit www.melissaisd.org/sitwithus.

Special Education & Intervention Services invites parents to "Sit With Us" at our next meeting from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

The department is headquartered in the Special Programs Hub at the Melissa Ridge Education Center, 3233 W. Fannin Rd., Melissa, TX (click the button above for directions).
