Melissa ISD Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2021-2022 school year will take place on May 18-19, 2021 from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. This come-and-go registration event serves all incoming Kindergarten students. Prior to attending, please ensure that you have completed the online enrollment process and the paper packet for your incoming Kindergarten student. As a reminder, Melissa ISD will share the updated elementary attendance boundary lines within the next week, prior to Kindergarten Round-Up. Once available, this information will be published on the Melissa ISD website and social media.

Melissa Schools will be closed districtwide for Spring Break from March 8-12. Students will have a two-hour delayed arrival when they return to school on Monday, March 15, in order to allow Melissa ISD to offer COVID-19 vaccines to district employees that morning.

Monday, March 29 and Thursday, May 27 are Melissa ISD’s two Bad Weather Makeup Days for the 2020-2021 school year. Melissa ISD students will have school on both days to make up for the unexpected weather-related school closures that took place in February.

Free curbside meal kits are available this week for Melissa ISD students who are not attending in-person school from February 22-26, with pickup available on Monday and Tuesday. Meal kits must be preordered online via Nutrislice. Melissa ISD schools and offices will reopen for normal operations beginning Monday, February 22, with the exception of the Melissa Ridge Education Center which will remain closed for one more week. Moving forward, the district will continue to monitor internet connectivity in the area and will notify families of any important updates related to the internet and its impact on student instruction.
