Last week, Melissa ISD proudly hosted the 14th annual Special Olympics Track Meet at the Melissa Middle School Cardinal Stadium, where athletes, families, volunteers, and neighboring districts came together for a day filled with excitement, achievement, and pride.
A huge thank you to all of the 158 student volunteers, 58 adult community volunteers, and the 10 coaches and student groups who helped make the event so special. Your support, energy, and encouragement created an inspiring atmosphere for everyone. We are also grateful to the districts that joined us and made the day even more memorable.
Most of all, congratulations to our incredible athletes! Your determination, heart, and sportsmanship were truly inspiring. We are so proud of you and look forward to celebrating even more successes with you in the future!
Some of these athletes will be leading the way at the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. Make sure to come out to support them or watch from our livestream at www.melissaisd.org/livestream.
