The Academy

The Academy offers a variety of programs for students K-5.


Afterschool Program: This program is an extension of the school day. Housed at Harry McKillop Elementary and operating from dismissal to 6:00 p.m., students enjoy a variety of developmentally appropriate activities including an enrichment time, structured and unstructured play, and a study time in a creative and nurturing environment. Melissa Ridge Intermediate students are bused to the Harry McKillop Elementary campus.


10 Day Pass: This pass offers individual students the ability to join the Afterschool Program for 10 days during a given semester. 48-hour notice and confirmation of acceptance is necessary to be in attendance.


Extended Day Care: This program offers activities for students on the two Melisa ISD extended days – Dec. 22 and June 5. We operate from dismissal until 6:00 p.m. This option is currently available for Afterschool Program students only. Students should bring their own lunch.


Holiday Care: This program offers activities for students on the two Melissa ISD student holidays – Fair Day (Oct. 9) and MLK Day (Jan. 15). Care is provided 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This option is currently available for Afterschool Program students only. Students should bring their own lunch.


Forms & Enrollment

To be considered for enrollment, please complete the required forms below (marked with *) and submit them for review. Completed forms and all inquiries should be directed to hmeacademy@melissaisd.org or dropped off at the front desk at Harry McKillop Elementary or Melissa Ridge Intermediate. A $40.00 enrollment fee is charged for each student participating.
