On Wednesday, Oct. 22, Mathews Auto Group (Honda and Nissan in Paris, TX) celebrated two extremely deserving educators from Melissa ISD by honoring them through their "Pay it Forward" initiative.
Our first honoree was Lori Blanscet, the librarian at Willow Wood Elementary School. “Lori will do anything for our campus and embodies the very essence of the Cardinal Way in all she does. More than a librarian, she is a true pillar of our school, a fierce advocate and unwavering supporter of our students, staff, and community,” WWE Principal Precious Bale shared. “Her commitment to excellence reaches far beyond our walls, impacting the success of our entire district. Lori is so deserving of this recognition.”
The second educator who was honored was Mariana Fuentes, a Cardinal Child Care teacher at Melissa Ridge Education Center. Cardinal Child Care Director Aida Colter expressed her gratitude for Price, “Her love for teaching and genuine care for her students and families make her truly special. She gives her heart to everything she does, and we are so proud to celebrate her!”
The dealership owners, Tim and Julie Anderson, are a former Melissa Cardinal family and initiated the “Pay it Forward”' program to recognize teachers who go above and beyond for students and the school without expecting anything in return. Both Johnson and Price were awarded $250 each through this initiative as a thank you for their service in education.
Congratulations to these outstanding teachers! We deeply appreciate your dedication to our Cardinals.
