The information below is for those families who receive or are eligible to receive Free & Reduced lunch benefits.
Melissa ISD provides free and reduced-price meals for students who meet program qualifications. To continue receiving these benefits each school year, qualifying families must submit a new application annually.
If your child received free or reduced-price meals during the 2024-2025 school year, this benefit will expire on September 30, 2025. If you have not already completed an application for the 2025-2026 school year, a new application must be completed and returned on or before September 30 to avoid an interruption in benefits.
Households that have been directly certified through state benefits should have received an award letter for the 2025-2026 school year. If you have not received an award letter, you will need to complete a 2025-2026 application to maintain your benefits.
Access the Free & Reduced Lunch Application:
If a family has multiple students attending the same primary or secondary campus, one application may be filled out for all students at that campus. Families with students on both primary and secondary campuses will need to complete one application for all PreK and elementary students in the household and a separate application for all secondary students in the household.
Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, Free and Reduced-Price meal applications for all secondary students will require supporting documents to be sent to lunchapps@melissaisd.org to be verified prior to approval.
There are two ways to submit proof of income documentation (recent paystubs and tax returns).
Scan and email the proof of income documentation to lunchapps@melissaisd.org
Mail the documentation to: Melissa ISD Child Nutrition, 2230 McKinney St., Melissa, TX 75454
Questions regarding the application process can be emailed to lunchapps@melissaisd.org. For more information about the program, visit our website www.melissaisd.org/mealprogram.
