Melissa High School cheerleading tryouts for the 2023-2024 school year are scheduled for the evening of Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, open to students entering grades 9-12. Students who are interested in trying out for the cheerleading squad should make note of the important activity dates and requirements below.
In order to participate in cheerleading tryouts, the student must attend a mandatory informational meeting with their parent or guardian from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. on either Monday, Jan. 23 or Monday, Feb. 6 in the Student Union at Melissa High School.
To learn and practice the tryout material, students are encouraged to attend the following clinics: 1) the Stunt Clinic from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28 in the auxiliary gym at Melissa High School, and 2) one or more of the Tryout Material Clinics held from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. daily from Feb. 20-24 in the auxiliary gym at Melissa High School.
Tryouts will be held from 4:30 p.m. until completion on Friday, Feb. 24 in the auxiliary gym at Melissa High School. Tryout results are expected to be posted online at www.melissaisd.org/cheer the evening of Feb. 24, once tryouts are complete and results have been tabulated. The results can only accessed by Melissa ISD students using their school email address.
