ECMS Choirs

The East Cardinal Middle School Choirs received superior ratings at the UIL Region 25 Concert and Sight-Reading Contest, earning Sweepstakes honors in two competing ensembles. The Varsity Treble and Varsity Tenor-Bass choirs all received the highest possible ratings for their performances and both received sweepstakes in their contests. The Bella Voce Treble Choir received an excellent score in concert and superior ratings in sight reading.

This achievement reflects the students’ dedication and talent, along with the leadership of the East Cardinal Middle School Choir Director Marissa Martin. Under her direction, the choirs showcased exceptional vocal tone, sight-reading skills, and musical cohesion.

“UIL was such a unique experience and big accomplishment for our choir,” said Varsity Treble student, 8th grader Charishma Yeso. “It filled us with pride and achievement and will forever hold a place in my heart."

Bella Voce Treble Choir student, 8th grader Brielle Molina, also spoke highly of the contest experience saying, “UIL was incredible! It made me happy that I got to sing with my favorite community. Overall, it made me proud to show off our talent and represent our school with humility and hope.”

Also expressing excitement about the contest and the results, Varsity Tenor-Bass Choir student, 8th grader Max Kenney, said, “I was so grateful to participate in UIL and show off what we can do in choir! It was an overall great experience, and I'm proud of what we accomplished.”

Congratulations to the East Cardinal Middle School Choirs on their accomplishments! We are excited to watch these talented students as they continue to grow in their musical journey and represent Melissa ISD with pride in the years ahead.
