Melissa ISD Fine Arts and the Melissa Chamber of Commerce welcomes the entire community to the annual Heart for the Arts Festival on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Melissa High School’s Symmetry Plaza.
This family-fun event will showcase the talents of the Visual and Performing Arts students in grades K-12, featuring artwork from all campuses and performances by theatrical and musical students. Children of all ages can enjoy arts and crafts stations, face painting, photo booths, balloon animals, and more. Admission is free of charge. This event will also include food trucks and vendors around the plaza.
Families are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets as they enjoy the performances on the Symmetry Plaza lawn.

5:00 p.m. - Elementary Honor Choir
5:20 p.m. - Sumeer Elementary Choir
5:40 p.m. - Highland Elementary Choir
6:00 p.m. - Willow Wood Elementary Choir
6:20 p.m. - Harry McKillop Elementary Choir
6:40 p.m. - North Creek Elementary Choir
7:30 p.m. - MHS Holiday in the MAC (tickets required)
There will be transition shows between these performances by the East Cardinal Middle School and Sixth Grade Center Theatre programs consisting of holiday songs, storytime, and more!
Holiday in the MAC
Following the Heart for the Arts event, the celebration continues with the first-ever Holiday in the MAC at 7:30. The community can enjoy special performances from the Melissa High School band, dance, theatre, and choir programs. Tickets are required for this event due to limited seating, however, admission is free and anyone is welcome to attend. Tickets will be available at a later date at www.melissaisd.org/fine-arts-tickets.
