Melissa ISD students helped serve their community by partnering with the City of Melissa to share their ideas for our local parks. The 4th-grade GT students, ECMS 7th-grade girls athletics, and MHS boys basketball players all took part in a fun, hands-on activity to help the city learn what our Cardinals value most in their outdoor spaces.
The elementary students designed their own ideal park, while the secondary students gave feedback about what they’d love most in Melissa’s parks and what improvements they’d like to see. Their stories and designs sparked thoughtful conversations and gave meaningful insight into how the next generation envisions Melissa’s growing community. Thank you to the City of Melissa for allowing our Cardinals to help shape the future of our town!
The whole Melissa community is invited to contribute feedback through the Parks and Recs online survey or at the next public meeting on Oct. 21. To learn more, visit www.melissainmotion.com.
