High School students collecting food donations

Melissa ISD students in Pre-K through 12th grade worked together to give back to our community by collecting over 15,000 nonperishable food items for two local organizations that help families right here in Melissa.

The four elementary school campuses participated in the Melissa Booster Club’s annual “Fill the Bus” fall food drive. The food collected was brought together to support the Melissa Community Outreach Food Pantry. Altogether, the elementary students donated 11,398 nonperishable food items.

Melissa Ridge Education Center, Melissa Middle School, Sixth Grade Center, and High School collected food items that will go to local families through the First Melissa Christmas Angel Program and the Melissa Community Outreach Food Pantry. In total, students at these schools collected over 4,000 food items for these organizations.

Thank you, Cardinals for your generosity and continued support of our community!
