Homecoming Court, Prince & Princess

We're excited to introduce the Melissa High School 2023 Homecoming Court, Homecoming Prince, and Homecoming Princess! You'll see these Cardinals in the Melissa Homecoming Parade, and King and Queen will be crowned during halftime on Friday, Oct. 20 at the Homecoming football game against Greenville.

Themed Dress-Up Days

Students and staff can participate in themed dress-up days the week of Oct. 16-20! Dress-up day themes are listed by grade level.

Students who wish to wear a Homecoming mum to school may do so on Friday, Oct. 20 as long as the mum aligns with the school dress code. Students should follow the Melissa ISD Dress code for Homecoming Week themed dress-up days; specific dress-up rules are at the discretion of each campus' administrators.

Melissa Homecoming Celebration
Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023

Tailgating
5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

The community is invited to tailgate from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in the designated tailgating area, located on the west side of the Championship Center. See the Parade Map below.

Tailgating may begin no earlier than 5 p.m. in the designated tailgating area. All tailgating spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.

The 2023 Melissa Homecoming Parade begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18. This year’s parade theme is “Beat the Lions!”. Prizes will be awarded to the top three best-decorated floats.

The community can watch the parade all along the designated route.

Immediately Following the Parade

A community pep rally at Kenny Deel Stadium will follow the Melissa Homecoming Parade. The pep rally will begin as soon as the parade ends.

Homecoming Football Game
Friday, Oct. 20, 2023

Melissa Cardinals vs. Greenville Lions
7:30 p.m.

The Melissa Cardinals will face the Greenville Lions at this year’s Homecoming football game on Friday, Oct. 20. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The 2023 Melissa High School Homecoming King and Queen will also be crowned during halftime at the game. The theme will be Red Out.

Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium or in Championship Center, depending on the weather conditions at the time.

Tickets to the game will go on sale at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16 online at www.melissaisd.org/tickets. Ticket pricing is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Beginning at 12 p.m. the day of the game, ticket pricing increases to $8 for adults and students, both online and at the gate.

Those who can’t make it to the game can watch and listen live from home through the Melissa ISD livestream with commentary by the Melissa Cardinals Network.

Melissa High School Homecoming Dance
Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023

Hometown Homecoming: A Celebration of Our Roots
7:00-10:00 p.m.

The Melissa High School Homecoming Dance will be held from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 in the Student Union and Plaza. The theme is “Hometown Homecoming: A Celebration of Our Roots." It's all about embracing that classic, small-town vibe and creating cherished memories with your friends.
