All Melissa Cardinals, including current students, employees, alumni, and families, are invited to join Melissa High School and Melissa ISD in celebrating Homecoming Week from Oct. 5-10, 2026. Community events will include the Homecoming parade, an outdoor pep rally, and the Melissa High School Homecoming football game.
The Homecoming parade, with the theme “Forget the Titans,” is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and will feature appearances by the Melissa High School 2026 Homecoming Court, Homecoming Prince, and Homecoming Princess. Stacy Wilson, longtime MISD employee and Melissa High School’s Office Manager for the past 22 years, will lead the parade as the Grand Marshal. A member of the MHS family since its opening, Stacy has truly been the heart of the MHS campus for many years, bringing her welcoming smile, friendship, and organization to generations of Cardinals.
The parade will also showcase our very own MHS and East Cardinal Middle School academic, athletic, and fine arts programs. Approved float participants will be allowed to walk alongside their float and hand out candy or other Cardinal spirit items. Because space is limited, we ask that each local youth organization interested in participating register only one float to help us include as many groups as possible. Local businesses interested in participating are encouraged to partner with MHS and ECMS programs or local youth organizations to be featured on a float. On Friday, Oct. 9, the Melissa Cardinals will take on the Frisco Centennial Titans at the MHS Homecoming football game, starting at 7:00 p.m. at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium. Ticket sales open online at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2. Ticket pricing is $8 for adults and $4 for students; all tickets increase to $10 beginning at 12 p.m. on the day of the game. The district will air a livestream on Hudl Fan for those who can’t make it to the game.
Campuses will announce the Homecoming Week themed dress-up days for their students to participate in. All students are encouraged to participate in Cardinal Spirit Day on Friday, Oct. 9, and Homecoming mums may be worn to school on that day.
