Melissa ISD is proud to celebrate Tennis Coaches Logan Daniell and Allison Winspear for earning statewide recognition from the Texas Tennis Coaches Association for the 2025 school year.
Head Coach Logan Daniell was honored with the 2025 Carey Caldwell Character Award, recognizing a coach who exemplifies outstanding character both on and off the court. This award is named for Carey Caldwell, a TTCA Hall of Fame inductee and longtime Burkburnett High School coach, who built a legacy of integrity and leadership throughout his career.
Coach Daniell expressed his gratitude for the recognition and commended Coach Winspear for her dedication to students and the program, “Coach Winspear and I are truly thankful for receiving these awards. We appreciate being nominated by our peers and recognized by the Texas Tennis Coaches Association. Coach Winspear is one of the hardest-working coaches I've worked with. She truly cares about her students and our program here in Melissa and goes above and beyond to make sure the students have the best experience possible. As for myself, I am truly humbled by this award. Receiving this award means a great deal to me and I appreciate all of the encouragement given to me. This award motivates me to keep learning, growing, and giving my best every day.”
Assistant Tennis Coach Allison Winspear received the Loretta Hrncir Dedication Award, presented to a coach who consistently goes above and beyond in service to the sport and their athletes. This award is named in honor of Loretta Hrncir, whose nearly four decades at North Forest ISD have been marked by tireless dedication to growing the game of tennis for students of all ages.
Coach Winspear also expressed her gratitude for the recognition and reflected on the support of her colleagues and students. “Thank you both to the Texas Tennis Coaches Association and to our peers for nominating Coach Daniell, and myself for these awards. It is a great honor. We both appreciate the opportunity to impact young tennis players' lives, and we look forward to continuing to work with the players in Melissa. I am truly blessed to get to work with Coach Daniell and the students in Melissa. Each day, I learn as much from them as I hope they do from me. I could not have had an opportunity to even be considered for this award if it were not for their dedication and hard work as well.”
“Coach Daniell and Coach Winspear represent everything we hope our coaches will be: leaders of character, servant-minded professionals, and tireless advocates for their student-athletes,” said Melissa ISD Athletic Director Seth Stinton. “These statewide honors are a direct reflection of the integrity, dedication, and excellence they bring to our tennis program each day. Melissa ISD is incredibly proud of both of them and grateful for the positive impact they continue to make on our students and our community.”
Congratulations to our incredible coaches on this well-deserved recognition. We are grateful for your commitment to our student-athletes and the excellence you bring to Team Melissa.
