Join us in recognizing our Lady Cardinal Varsity Volleyball Team! This season, the team once again advanced to the playoffs, secured a solid bi-district win, and finished strong in an extremely competitive Area matchup. Throughout the year, the team continued to work hard, refine their game, and represent Melissa ISD with pride both on and off the court.
Head Coach Ashley Pruitt reflected on the year, praising the dedication and growth of her athletes, “This season was about rebuilding, lifting each other up, and playing with grit and determination. The growth that I saw in these young women over the course of a season was incredible. I am so thankful and proud of how they each represented this program.”
“Our biggest strength this year was that we never gave up,” said Senior Duura Kpea, reflecting on this season. “We fought for everything and each other. We wanted to leave each game knowing that we did our best, no matter the score. We wanted the best for each other and didn’t want to let each other down. Many teams cannot say they are friends on and off the court, but we can proudly say we are.”
The Lady Cardinals close out their year with a strong foundation as they look ahead to next season. A special shoutout goes to our seniors for their leadership, commitment, and meaningful contributions to the program. Another huge shoutout to Coach Pruitt and her staff for their dedication and guidance throughout the year. We look forward to seeing the incredible things this team will accomplish in the seasons ahead.
