Head Coach Ashley Pruitt

Coach Ashley Pruitt is excited for another season as a Melissa Cardinal. This is her second year on campus at Melissa and her 18th year in education overall. During that time she has taught Algebra, Geometry, Algebraic Reasoning, and AP Statistics, as well as coached volleyball, basketball, track, and softball. She spent her earlier years in Carrollton ISD and Mesquite ISD, but most recently taught and coached in Community ISD and Rockwall ISD. Since she came to Melissa, she has amassed two Bi-District championships, two Area Championships, a Regional Quarter Finals Championship, and a Regional Finals appearance.

Coach Pruitt was born and raised in Dallas, TX and is a proud Mesquite Poteet alumni. She attended Dallas Baptist University for her undergrad and then received her masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is also the Club Director at Summit Volleyball Club where she also coaches a 17 and under team in the off-season.

Coach Pruitt and her husband, Casey currently reside in Melissa, where they are raising their children, Colton and Avery. They enjoy traveling, watching their daughter play soccer, and watching their son play baseball. The Pruitts are die-hard Texas Longhorn fans and love getting to attend the volleyball and football games in Austin whenever possible.
