Head Coach Sasha Shkorupeieva

Coach Sasha is in her second year serving as Head Tennis Coach for the Melissa Cardinals. During her first year, she taught entrepreneurship, advertising, and social media marketing classes at the high school while also serving as head coach for both the middle school and high school tennis programs. During her first year, Coach Sasha led the team to the playoffs during the fall 2022 team tennis season. She is currently in her second year as Head Coach. This year Coach Sasha is coaching middle school tennis classes during the first part of the day, developing and building junior high tennis programs, and coaching freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity tennis teams in the afternoon. Coach Sasha led the varsity tennis team to become bi-district champions in the fall of 2023.

Coach Sasha is originally from Odessa, Ukraine. She began playing tennis at the age of 5. She received a full athletic scholarship to play tennis at the University of Arkansas for the Razorbacks Women's Tennis Team. She competed in both doubles and singles and helped lead the team to NCAA postseason playoffs all four years. She received her bachelor's degree in 2018 in sport management and business. In addition, she received her Master's Degree in sports management in 2020 from the University of Arkansas and worked as a student assistant coach for the Razorbacks Women's Tennis Team while completing her master's degree. While doing so, she realized how much passion she has for coaching student-athletes and helping them reach their full potential. She has been coaching students of all ages and levels for 3 years at various academies before becoming Melissa's Head Tennis Coach.

In her free time, Coach Sasha enjoys playing tennis and pickleball with friends and exploring new places around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
