Coach Katie Stinton has been leading the Lady Cardinal Basketball program for the past 2 seasons.  Before Melissa, she was in Gunter for 3 seasons where they reached the regional Finals.  Prior to Gunter, Coach Stinton started the program at Lone Star High School where she coached for 9 years reaching the regional tournament twice.  Coach Stinton is approaching 300 career wins this season and the Lady Cardinals have already drastically surpassed their win total from last season.

Coach Stinton has been in education for the past 23 years and is in her 15th season as a head coach.  Coach Stinton grew up in Van Alstyne, Tx where she attended K-12tgh grade.  After high school, Coach Stinton received a full basketball scholarship to The University of Texas where she played for legendary hall of fame Coach, Jody Conradt.  Coach Stinton graduated with a liberal Arts degree and a minor in speech communications.  

Coach Stinton lives with her husband in Melissa, Texas and they have 2 sets of twins age 9 and 7 and their mini golden doodle, Rosie.  

Coach Stinton is a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and also loves cheering on her Longhorns in all sports. She loves spending time with family and being outdoors.
