Fun Facts:

  • I have been married for 23 years and have 3 teenagers!
  • I love sports – especially tennis and soccer.
  • I like to learn and try new things, so I love to travel. I have now visited seven countries!

When and why did you decide that you wanted to become a teacher?

A: In second grade when my teacher read The Hobbit aloud to us! The story just took us all away. I want to do that with my kids. I enjoy watching the kids lose themselves in a story, create meaning from their own writing, and grow as writers. When they ‘get something”, and you see the pride on their faces – that is what it is all about.

What is your favorite lesson to teach?

I have a new favorite on this year: Petal Sentences. Teaching visually about sentence variety. We use a lot of color in my class!

What is your favorite Core Value and why?

My favorite Core Value is integrity. I believe that if a person has integrity, they will prosper in all aspects of life.

What is the best thing about being a Cardinal?

The best thing about being a Cardinal is the community we share. I have been a Cardinal for the past 12 years, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! The way the kids, schools, and town comes together is priceless. We are growing, but we will always be a Cardinal Community.
