Substitute teaching orientation sessions scheduled for May 29-30

Melissa ISD has partnered with ESS to manage all substitute teaching assignments beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.

ESS will host two orientation sessions for the district’s current substitute teachers on Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Home Office, located at 1904 Cooper Street.

Substitute teachers who plan to return for the 2019-2020 school year, as well as individuals interested in substitute teaching, are encouraged to attend one of the two orientation sessions ahead of the summer break. Prior to orientation, please complete the online application located at or by clicking on the links below.

Below is a list of required documentation for employment with ESS. The required forms are part of the online application process; printed copies will be available at both orientation sessions.

  • Proper identification needed to verify your employment eligibility
  • Voided check for the direct deposit form
  • Signed offer letter of employment, employee manual acknowledgment, 401k acknowledgment, and emergency contact forms
  • Employment eligibility verification form (I-9)
  • Federal tax form (W-4)
  • Direct deposit or Visa Global Cash Card enrollment form
  • Health insurance marketplace coverage form
  • Release form
