Together this spring, we experienced unprecedented events as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic. In March, the landscape at Melissa Schools shifted unexpectedly and swiftly. In true “Team Melissa” form, our students, parents, teachers, and administrators collectively rose to face the adversity on the horizon.

While the future may feel uncertain, and conversations surrounding school operations are ever-evolving, the Melissa ISD core values remain true. “Knowing that we are committed to being child-centered, we will act with and instill: integrity, loyalty, honesty, humility, and hope.” At Melissa Schools, we have hope that we can build a brighter tomorrow.

This summer, Superintendent Keith Murphy, the Melissa ISD executive leadership team, and the Board of Trustees will continue to monitor local, state, and national conversations and guidelines regarding COVID-19 and K-12 education. Melissa ISD will promptly provide updates to our community as new developments unfold, and as any modifications are made to our standard school procedures. We welcome feedback from all stakeholders along the way: please look out for our Parent Feedback Survey to be shared in June.

Please routinely visit our district website and follow Melissa ISD on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the latest information about the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
