Melissa Schools welcomed over 50 teachers who are new to the district on Monday during New Teacher Orientation at the Home Office.

Superintendent Keith Murphy introduced the executive leadership team and administrative staff of Melissa Schools, and spoke about the district’s mission, vision, and core values.

“My job is to surround you and our children with the very best,” said Murphy. “This is a place for growth and we live in a growth mindset; not just as a teacher, but as a person.”

Breakout sessions followed, led by Dr. Robert Rich, Deputy Superintendent, and Claude Webb, Girls’ Athletic Director.

New Teacher Orientation continues Tuesday at Harry McKillop Elementary, North Creek Elementary, Melissa Middle School, and Melissa High School.

All Melissa Schools staff will attend a convocation and professional development next week. Students return for the first day of school on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
