The Melissa ISD Pre-Kindergarten program is expanding to offer two full day Pre-K enrollment options for up-and-coming Cardinals, including Eligibility-Based Pre-K and Tuition-Based Pre-K.

The Pre-K program is open to children who will be four-years-old on or before Sept. 1 of the target school year. Previously, Melissa ISD only offered Pre-K to children who met specific eligibility requirements. Beginning this fall, the district will add a paid Pre-K option for children who are not eligible for the qualifying program.

All Melissa ISD Pre-K students will attend school at the Melissa Ridge Education Center for the 2021-2022 school year. Pre-K will be offered in-person; the possibility of a virtual Pre-K option is still to be determined, as Melissa ISD awaits guidance and requirements from the Texas Education Agency for the 2021-2022 school year.

Parents and guardians who are interested in registering their child in the Melissa ISD Pre-Kindergarten program for the 2021-2022 school year can begin by completing the Pre-Kindergarten Questionnaire. Please note that for Tuition-Based Pre-K, a limited number of spots are available, registration is first come, first served, and a paid deposit will be required in order to secure a spot.

All Pre-K students who live within the Melissa ISD transportation zone will have the option to register for bus service for the 2021-2022 school year. The district will publish an announcement when student transportation registration opens.

Questions regarding Pre-K can be directed to the Melissa Ridge Education Center at 214-386-2416 or to the campus registrar, Connie Thompson, at conniethompson@melissaisd.org.
